First established in 636 CE by Arab commanders, the Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles in Tripoli overlooks the Abou Ali River and is one of the biggest fortresses in Lebanon.

Tripoli is brimming with beautiful mosques, from ancient buildings to modern structures. Although mosques are located throughout the city, the most known mosques are the Mansouri Great Mosque, built-in 1294 CE, and the Bourtasi Mosque in the Hadid district, constructed in 1310 CE.

The old train station of Tripoli, located before Burj Al Sibai on the coastal side of the city is not to be missed. The station has become a canvas for talented street artists, while the beautiful and rustic trains still stand tall throughout the site.
